Toll Payments and Information | Budget Car Rental

Budget has partnered with Linkt, so that tolls incurred by you when using a Budget vehicle on any toll road in Australia can be charged directly to you by Linkt. There’s nothing you need to do. Linkt will use your booking information and automatically set up a Linkt Rental Account for you.

Currently, there are toll roads on the eastern seaboard of Australia (including the toll roads in the metropolitan areas of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane).

Who is Linkt?

Linkt is the retail tolling brand of Transurban – a leading toll road operator in Australia. Linkt has partnered with Budget to provide access to tolling services for its rental customers and ensure toll road payments are easy and simple.

Using your Linkt Rental Account

After you have travelled on a toll road, you will receive an email or SMS from Linkt about a Linkt Rental Account. This account has automatically been set up for you using the details provided to Budget when booking your rental vehicle and signing your rental agreement.

All payments for tolls will be automatically made with the credit or debit card that you provided Budget for your rental vehicle.

You can track your trips, access payment details and download your statements when you log into your Linkt Rental Account, using the information sent to you by Linkt.

If you are having issues accessing your account, keep your rental agreement number handy and Linkt will be able to assist you.

How does payment work?

Each day you drive on a toll road Linkt will charge you the cost of the toll trips plus a $3.30 fee for each day that you use a toll road.

All payments for tolls will be automatically made with the credit or debit card that you provided for your rental vehicle.

On your bank statements you will notice a charge from Linkt. Trips will be processed typically within 3 to 5 days of travel. Once all your trips have been processed and paid, Linkt will close the account for you.

Does the Linkt Commercial Rental Account affect my existing Commercial Linkt account?

This account covers toll road trips taken by your employees in rental vehicles linked to your rental account only, not your company or business’ fleet.

Toll road travel taken by company vehicles are covered by your existing Linkt Commercial Account, if you have one and if you’ve added such vehicles to your account.
